The Packer functions under the direct supervision of the Production Manager. This position is responsible for the packing and testing of the pouches to meet production schedules, and maintain compliance to company and customer quality standards, and policies in the Pouching Department. The Packer must work closely with the machine operator, production manager, Quality Assurance and Customer Service to assure that all production objectives are efficiency achieved.
|Duties:||SOME DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:|
•Compliance with all company Quality System, Operational and Human Resource Policies, procedures, and practices, including safety and housekeeping procedures.
•Ensure efficient production of a quality product on a day-to-day basis.
•Ensure that the pouching machinery is working properly and safely.
•Monitor the quality of the material being processed to ensure compliance to company and customer quality specifications. Seek assistance from your operator on any quality issue during run. If operator is busy, contact your supervisor.
•Accurately complete all required paperwork, reports, and quality records associated with pouch operations.
•Alert Quality Assurance of any suspected material non-conformances.
•Keep your work area clean at all times. Be proactive in you housekeeping. Blow out machine before shift changes. If you see something that needs attention, do it before being told to. Always maintain a clean and safe work area at all times.
•Pack products neatly in the cartons and stack them neatly on the skids. If you need assistance seek help from your operator.
•Prepare new cartons as needed for job run.
•Communicate with the next shift for any special instructions, sample, (reason why you couldn’t get samples), any machine problems, things to watch for as in quality, etc…
•Participate with peers and supervisors in addressing problem areas, planning, methods and operating procedures.
•Track departmental supplies, and notify manufacturing supervisor when supplies are needed.
|Qualifications:||•High School Diploma, GED or equivalent work history.|
•Good verbal & written communication skills.
•Ability to read a tape measure in millimeters.
